About Us

In collaboration with our community partners, Foundation for Early Learning supports parents and caregivers as they guide their children through critical developmental years - birth through age five. With the universal goal that children are healthy and ready for school, we support programs throughout Washington State that advance our vision that all children in Washington will be socially, emotionally and intellectually prepared when they enter school.

Foundation for Early Learning is dedicated to increasing the number of children in Washington State who enter school prepared to succeed by:

1. Supporting parents and caregivers as their children’s first teachers; and
2. Supporting high-quality early learning, childcare and preschool

Child development experts tell us learning begins at birth. Unfortunately, many families throughout our state do not have access to programs and resources to help them become their child’s first teacher. That is where we step in. For the past eight years, we have funded programs and developed resources that have helped thousands of parents and babies grow and learn together as they get school ready.

As a member of local, regional and national networks, we know that great ideas come from taking creative risks. At the Foundation, we seek input from a broad base of parents, educators, experts, and interested community members. The result: Dozens of unique programs, satisfied parents, and thousands of children guaranteed to be school ready by the time they enter kindergarten.
